Ascension: The Spire ("Ascension," "we," "us") is a fitness and personal development app with a game layer, AI coach characters and optional human coaching. It is operated by Jacob Salisbury, League City, Texas. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
The short version: we use your information to run the app and coach you. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your phone number or text-message consent with anyone for marketing.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and sign-in information.
- Your hero and plan: your character, workouts and sets you log, habits, to-dos and your daily Power List, goals and assessment answers.
- Wellness logs: things you choose to log, such as bodyweight, steps, water, sleep, meals and nutrition targets, and files your coach shares with you (for example a meal plan).
- Journal and reflections: entries such as your written vision or gratitude notes. These are private unless you choose to share them.
- Messages: messages with your human coach, and conversations with the in-app coach characters (Kael, Ilyra and Professor Strix).
- Phone number and consent: if you turn on text messages or calls, your mobile number and a record of your consent (the time, the wording you agreed to and the number).
Information created as you use Ascension
- Game progress: experience points, levels, loot, companions and similar game data.
- Mentor memory: short notes the AI coach characters keep from your conversations so they can help you later, such as an upcoming event you mentioned. You can see, edit and delete these in the app.
- Calls and texts: if you use text messages or calls with the coach characters, the messages and a written transcript of each call, stored like an in-app chat.
- Device and technical data: app version, device type, notification tokens, crash reports and basic usage logs.
How we use it
- To run the app: save your plan, track progress, grant rewards and keep your account in sync across devices.
- To coach you: help you plan your day, remind you of what you chose to do, and answer questions about your plan, meals and goals.
- To send the reminders, texts and calls you turned on, at the frequency you chose.
- To give your human coach what they need to coach you, if you have one (see below).
- To keep Ascension safe, fix problems and improve it.
Ascension is a wellness and personal development service. It is not medical care, and it does not diagnose or treat any condition.
Who we share it with
- Your coach, if you have one. Your coach can see your plan, logged activity, Power Lists and the mentor memories marked as visible to your coach. Journal entries and memories from conversations with Ilyra stay private unless you choose to share them.
- Service providers that run parts of Ascension for us, only for that purpose: cloud hosting and database (Supabase), AI model providers that power the coach characters, voice providers that speak their lines (ElevenLabs), our phone and text provider (Twilio), and app delivery and notification services (Expo, Apple, Google).
- When the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Text messages and calls
- We send text messages and make calls only to people who turn them on in the app's settings. Each is a separate choice and is off by default.
- Message frequency varies with the reminder style you choose, up to 5 messages a day. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any text to stop texts, or HELP for help. Say "stop calling" on a call, or turn calls off in Settings, to stop calls.
- Calls from the coach characters use AI-generated voices, and each call says so at the start.
- We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. We share them only with the phone and text provider that delivers the messages for us.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices
- See, edit or delete mentor memories in the app.
- Turn texts, calls and notifications on or off at any time.
- Ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by emailing support@ascension-1.live.
Security
We use encrypted connections and access controls to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us right away if you think your account was accessed without your permission.
Age
Ascension is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
