These terms are an agreement between you and Jacob Salisbury, who operates Ascension: The Spire ("Ascension," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using Ascension, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Ascension.
1. What Ascension is
Ascension is a fitness and personal development app with a game layer. It includes training plans, habits, a daily Power List, AI coach characters (Kael, Ilyra and Professor Strix), optional reminders by notification, text message and phone call, and optional coaching from a human coach.
2. Not medical advice
Ascension offers fitness, nutrition and wellness guidance for general purposes. It is not medical care, therapy or a diagnosis, and it does not replace advice from a doctor or other licensed professional. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise or nutrition program, especially if you have a health condition, an injury or are pregnant. Stop exercising and get help if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath. Exercise carries a risk of injury, and you take part at your own risk.
If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (in the US) or your local emergency number. The coach characters are not a crisis service.
3. The AI coach characters
The coach characters are powered by artificial intelligence. They can make mistakes. Use your own judgment, and check anything important with your coach or a professional. They keep notes from your conversations so they can help you later; you can see, edit and delete those notes in the app (see our Privacy Policy). They act on your behalf only in the ways you allow in the app's settings, and they never spend money for you without your approval each time.
4. Your account
You must be 18 or older to use Ascension. Keep your sign-in details safe and let us know if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
5. Using Ascension well
Please do not misuse Ascension: no breaking the law, harassing other people in the guild or community, trying to break or overload the service, cheating the game systems with automated tools, or copying our art, characters or content.
6. Game items and rewards
Experience points, loot, cosmetics, companions and other in-app rewards have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money and are licensed to you for use in Ascension. We may adjust game balance and rewards over time.
7. Coaching and payments
Paid coaching and any paid features are described at the time you buy them, including the price and how to cancel. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play follow that store's billing and refund rules.
8. SMS Terms (text messages) and calls
- Program: Ascension coaching reminders. When you opt in, the coach characters send reminders about your daily Power List, check-ins and coaching replies, and you can text back to talk with them.
- How you join: by turning on text messages (and, separately, calls) in the app under Settings, Reminders, and ticking the consent box. Consent is not required to buy or use Ascension.
- Frequency: varies with the reminder style you choose, up to 5 messages a day.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan.
- Stop: reply STOP to any text to stop texts. You will get one confirmation message. Reply START to turn them back on. On a call, say "stop calling," or turn calls off in Settings.
- Help: reply HELP to any text, or email support@ascension-1.live.
- AI voices: calls from the coach characters use AI-generated voices and say so at the start of every call.
- Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

9. Changes and ending your account
We may update Ascension and these terms. For important changes we will tell you in the app, and continuing to use Ascension means you accept the update. You can stop using Ascension and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
10. Disclaimers and limits
Ascension is provided "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will always be available, error free, or that it will produce any particular result, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law rules.
